We're delighted to host Devra Gartenstein at this week's Farmstand Demo tent.  The founding force behind Patty Pan Grill (which she recently transitioned into a worker-owned cooperative), Devra & co. are a beloved staple of all three SFMA markets (serving up home-spun quesadillas and tamales since our sister market in Ballard opened in 2000), and is a shining example of a local prepared foods business closely tied to the regional food shed. Patty Pan is the first prepared foods vendor at any Seattle area farm market (back in 1997, when there were only two), and sources most of its ingredients from Washington farms. Most recently, Patty Pan started making its own tortillas, using ground whole wheat from Nash's Organics Produce.

Devra will show us how to make tamales -- and of course, she'll be feeding us, too. Don't forget to ask about the Monday night Humble Feast Dinners at Patty Pan HQ in Shoreline. Stop by the Demo Tent around 4pm for the goods and conversation.
